A slab is a concrete foundation system at or near grade. Much of the soil interface is not directly accessible.
Pier-and-beam foundations
Pier-and-beam systems create a crawlspace where supports, beams, and joists may be observed directly.
Different repairs
A repair method that makes sense for a slab is not automatically appropriate for a pier-and-beam house.
